About
I write music under Tyler James Patterson (orchestral, film scoring) and el mir (pop).
I like to tell musical stories, not with words, but with change. If you use lyrics to tell a story in music, then you're not using the power of story, but the power of words. Story is a thing in and of itself. Similarly, if you create music with a predictable, repeating pattern (verse, chorus, verse, chorus, etc.) then the experience will also be predictable. Change is the essence of experience. Famiiarity is the essence of advertisement.
We already hear enough ads. Why make another chorus that repeats endlessly?
